Description:

The D.C. Language Access Coalition seeks volunteer Immigrant Health Researchers to help collect stories from limited and non-English proficient immigrants in D.C. about barriers to health care access that they have faced. The Researchers will be working in pairs and with the health organizer to speak with community members at community clinics and hospitals in the District about their health care experiences. This project aims to identify the major barriers to health care access that the immigrant communities face so that the Coalition can organize community members and advocate for greater health equity as needed. This requires a time commitment of 2 to 8 hours per week. Researchers must speak either Spanish or Mandarin at an advanced level and must have some availability during the week (Monday - Friday between 9 and 5).
