Description:
Work one-to-one with a refugee youth in grades 1-12 struggling with English or any language-based subject. The One-to-One Coordinator will provide each volunteer with a student evaluation and an individually designed curriculum that introduces and reinforces core skills needed to succeed in school. This relationship offers the youth special attention and encourages growth and the development of confidence.
The One-to-One Program takes place at Refugee Family Services Monday-Thursday, from 3-6pm. Tutors can also sign up to work with a student in-home on a flexible schedule.
One-to-One volunteers are asked to commit 2 hours, 1 day a week, for 1 semester or 3 months. An orientation is provided. All volunteers must consent to a background check.
