SCOPE OF WORK
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Deputy Country Director (Programs), the intern will work with the program department to support Save the Children’s development programs in Ethiopia.

The intern will play a support role in contributing to the development of programs at a challenging and exciting time of growth and transition

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in management of internal and external reporting with programs and finance, ensuring high-quality, well-written and timely reports meeting donor and SC requirements. Travel to the field as necessary to facilitate reporting process

Assist in working with program and technical unit staff to improve overall reporting and ensure all elements of proposals/agreements are addressed.

BACKGROUND DESIRED
Undergraduate degree, preferably in international relations or a social science

Excellent written English essential.

Proven prior experience with donor report and/or proposal writing.
Knowledge of USAID, EU and UK donor requirements and procedures a plus.

Intern expected to cover international airfare to Addis and in-country living expenses (approx. USD 500-600 per month). Save the Children will provide housing and cover all in-country (work related) travel expenses.
Internship Duration (minimum period of 6 month – starting in late August 2009 or thereafter).
