The Long Branch Athletic Association is looking for coaches to help tomorrow's best and brightest basketball players. LBAA is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to create constructive out-of-school activities for the youth of east Silver Spring through organized team sports. We empower children and youth to build self-confidence, leadership, teamwork and social skills, which positively impacts their academic performances and their community involvement.

The teams in need of volunteer coaches for the upcoming basketball season are comprised of boys and girls ranging in age from 3rd grade to 12th grade. Practices will begin the first week of December and games will begin the first week of January. Practices and games extend through the month of February. Team coaching in groups of 2-3 is encouraged. New coaches are also encouraged, as most participants are also new to the sport.

Coaching responsibilities include:
1. One 1 hour practice per week and one 1 hour game on a Saturday or Sunday.
2. Ensuring rides to and from practices and games in coordination with other coaches and parents.
3. Creating a positive, fun and rewarding atmosphere for players and parents to become more involved in team sports and community life.

Coaches will get:
1. A small stipend to cover expenses of transportation, refreshments, etc.
2. An incredible experience coaching appreciative youth
