Description:
Teaching positions. September 2009-August 2010 Minimum of 4 week commitment
Located three hours from capital and 45 minutes driving from second capital city.
Will work four days a week in rural village.
Fridays are reserved for Volunteer Travel.
Placement fee includes the following:
o Boarding and lodging with a host family (private room)
o Two meals per day
o Volunteer Placement
o Logistical support from GIST US including cultural forums where information concerning the culture and manners in Ghana are conveyed.
o Extended practical information about preparation, visa, money, journey, etc.
1 orientation day in Accra before you go to your host family and start the voluntary work.
o Help and assistance in Agogo; a weekly meeting and personal assistance in case of illness or other problems (the Agogo Presbyterian Training Hospital is located across the street from the school. Many of the doctors are U.S. medical school trained.
The costs for an airplane ticket, travel in Ghana, the visa, insurance, vaccinations and pocket money (indication: $20-$80 per week) are not included
