Description:

A Cadette Girl Scout (9th grade) needs your help while working to earn her Silver Award! This Girl Scout requires someone who speaks American Sign Language and can give her special attention because she is both legally blind and deaf. The Silver Award is the 2nd highest award in Girl Scouts and encourages girls to complete Interest Projects as well as devise solutions for an issue of their choice. A volunteer will work with this Girl Scout to develop a timeline for completion of her award, be her interpreter while she is working in the community, and be a mentor. This person would donate a few hours each week for the duration of the project (up to one year). Troop meetings are held every Thursday from 7:30pm-9pm and it would helpful if the volunteer could occasionally attend these.
