Description:
Interested in the ESL? There is a full-time opportunity for an AmeriCorps volunteer in the ABE/ESL Advising Office at Edmonds Community College. This is an AmeriCorps position that focuses especially on retention. It’s full-time and various projects will include the volunteer literacy program, the conversation group offered through the Diversity Center, creating peer mentor partnerships to transition ABE ESL student to college-level classes, and offering basic student support through the Advising Officer. In terms of compensation, the AmeriCorps receives a small monthly stipend and at the end of service, will receive an education award to go towards further training or pay off loans. Basic health insurance is also included.
