Description:
Description: The Website Editor/Designer is a unique opportunity to update and further design a website for Amnesty International Group 280.
Expected Commitment:
1. Start date: Immediate
2. Length of commitment: OPEN
3. Flexible schedule. This can be a work at home volunteer position with time allotted for consultation meetings.
4. Must also be able to meet deadlines on time-sensitive matters.
Responsibilities:
1. Help make current, basic website more user-friendly and suggest design improvements.
2. Design and implement new pages and functionalities that are consistent with and/or improve on the style and navigation structure of the existing site.
3. Create web content as needed.
4. Create search engine optimization strategies and techniques to increase Web traffic and provide monthly Web traffic reports.
5. Help determine the technical options and information needed for specific projects.
6. Teach Group AI280 members how to continue to update website.
7. Maintain thorough documentation of all related programs and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Proficiency with web formatting technologies such as Dreamweaver, HTML, Flash, and related graphics software
2. Candidate must possess a strong command of web standards, cross-browser compatibility and various web-related optimization techniques;
3. Should have a proven track record of previous work (examples of web-pages)
4. Must be self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
5. Attention to detail, well organized individual
6. Must be able to take initiative to be productive and efficient.
7. Must be able to function independently and still work well in a team environment.
8. Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).
