Description:

The Chinese Progressive Association is currently seeking volunteers to co-facilitate the Fall 2009 College Readiness Program.
This program is designed to introduce low-income youth from the Lower East Side and Chinatown to the college admissions process. Topics covered include: filing an application, choosing a major, and financial aid for college.

Responsibilities:
* Co-facilitate weekly workshops
* Assist students with completing assignments during small group activities
* Work in a team to prepare lessons and materials for weekly lessons
* Attend mandatory training sessions

*Must be available on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm between October 21 to December 16
* Strong interest and desire to work with high school students
* Currently enrolled college student OR recent college graduate
* Previous experience with teaching or training others
