Description:

The Nivasa Foundation

Nivasa Foundation seeks to break the cycle of modern day slavery for women and their children in Sri Lanka. The Nivasa Sponsor a Child program provides financial support for victims of human trafficking to help them raise and educate their children in Sri Lanka. By working in conjunction with local organizations which assist with the rehabilitation of victimized women and their families, the Nivasa Foundation provides hope and help to those who need it most.

The Director of Domestic and International Outreach (CO) has the following responsibilities:

*Time commitment is only 2-3 hours per week*

1. To uphold the mission of the Nivasa Foundation (Nivasa): The Nivasa Foundation provides for the basic needs of the children of victims of human trafficking and slavery. By providing the children with food, clothing, and an education, we help mitigate the circumstances that might otherwise drive these mothers to seek employment in the Middle East, exposing themselves to human traffickers;

2. Public Communication: Create and manage all forms of communication that represent Nivasa to the public;

3. Collaboration: Establish and maintain long-term relationships with organizations with a similar mission and students or student organizations and organize educational events, community outreach events that support Nivasa’s mission;

4. Sustainability: Every project that you create is sustainable. We want to help the families we serve become independent and financially stable;

5. Support: Since we are a small—but strong—organization, we may need your support in other areas of program operations and development;

6. Once a month the senior leadership team will meet to talk about the projects each member is working on.
