Students Active for Ending Rape (SAFER) provides community organizing training and ongoing support for college and university students working to improve their schools’ sexual assault prevention and response activities. By offering students leadership training; resources; and education in how sexual violence intersects with race, class, culture, and gender, SAFER empowers student activists to mobilize their communities and push school administrations to take action. Through these efforts, students across the country can begin to build a larger movement that will have widespread effects on the perception and response to sexual violence on a societal level.

We are in need of many short- and long-term volunteers to help with student outreach, communications and media strategies, web design, video editing, expanding our policy database, research projects, event planning, blogging and so much more!

We will be holding a meeting for anyone interested in joining the SAFER volunteer team on Wednesday October 14th at 6:30pm. This meeting will be held at our brand new office in Manhattan. During this orientation you will meet our Board of Directors, who currently coordinate all of SAFER's programs, and hear more about the exciting projects we have in store for the coming year, learn what expectations we have of our volunteers and choose what projects you would like to work on. You will also get to meet our current volunteers and interns and get feedback on what it's like to work at SAFER.
