About Globalhood
Globalhood is an international development non-profit organization based in New York. Founded in 2007, Globalhood’s mission is to bring together people and resources from across disciplines and cultures to create innovative projects and to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of other organizations. Along with consulting for other organizations, Globalhood also has its own projects including See Bulgaria, a film-making program teaching underserved Bulgarian youth to document pressing problems in their communities. See Bulgaria has just completed its pilot program in Sliven, Bulgaria working with local teenagers to document environmental and health issues in their communities.

Globalhood is seeking a fluent Bulgarian speaker for a 3-6 month internship. A commitment of 4-10 hours per week is required, but scheduling is flexible and correspondence will be primarily conducted via the Internet. This internship is unpaid, but provides the opportunity to become involved in a young, dynamic project with room for growth and further responsibilities.

Duties:
•Translate short (9-12 min) films and student surveys from Bulgarian into English
•Research and write profiles for site areas including Sliven, Bulgaria
•Conduct research about local Bulgarian issues including the environment and healthy lifestyles in published online Bulgarian sources
•Research larger, systemic problems in topic areas such as Bulgarian civil society and educational reform in published online Bulgarian sources

Requirements:
•Fluent Bulgarian and English Speaker; able to understand, translate and write both languages
•Some experience in online research and database use
•Interest in youth development, civic participation and social issues

The See Bulgaria website, still under construction, is http://globalhood.org/seebulgaria/. Also please feel free to go to http://www.globalhood.org
