Description:
The District Alliance for Safe Housing, Inc. (DASH) is a newly formed nonprofit agency that works to ensure safe and sustainable refuge for victims of domestic violence in the District of Columbia through the development and management of emergency and transitional housing and supporting other community-based organizations to develop housing for victims as well.
Position Description: provide support to the residential housing program by buzzing residents into the secured building, greeting residents as they enter and exit the building, assisting with small tasks as needed.
Times required: at least four hours a week; shifts available Monday-Sunday
Qualifications: volunteers should be friendly & reliable
Physical/Age Requirement: volunteers must be 18 years or older
Skills/Experience: must be able to operate the door security system (instructions provided)
Benefits to the volunteer: provide security and peace of mind to the residents in the building; quite time to read, write or draw, a great introduction to our housing program and services
