Description:
Volunteer chooses of available village projects for completion while staying in the Akha villages of North Thailand.
Some Examples:
Akha Book publishing project
Fish hatchery
Well
Gathering Place
Coffee Plantation
Fees:
Base fee for living expenses: $450 US
Two smaller projects per month or one larger project per month are required.
Small project fee $250
Medium project fee $500
More extensive projects are available for those needing more challenge or interested in making a larger difference in the Akha communities.
Fees include housing, food, all travel related to the projects.
Ticket to Chiangrai, Thailand not included in these fees.
Volunteer must provide visas, health insurance, vaccines.
Unfortunately carriers of any communicable disease can not apply due to the risk of an epedemic being spread to the village communities.
This includes Hep A, B, C or other transferable diseases.
