Did you know that we rely on volunteers to help our community thrive? Virtual volunteering offers you the chance to help an organization like ours at any time of day, from wherever you want, and for as little or as much time as you have to spare. All you need is access to the internet and a desire to be part of our mission.


By Flickr user korona-pl At Idealist.org, we strive to assure that no opportunities for action or collaboration are missed or wasted. Unfortunately, sometimes the organizations on our site lose contact with their accounts, which means they can't publicize their missions here or reach out to potential volunteers, interns, and new employees. This also keeps all of our users in the dark about the opportunities that exist in their communities.

We need to contact these organizations and remind them about their Idealist.org profiles. This is not a task we can handle alone, so we’re reaching out to members like you, in the hopes that you will sign up to be an Idealist.org Virtual Volunteer! Imagine: if 100 volunteers sign up to help us contact 10 organizations each, we could reach 1,000 organizations in no time at all, increasing the amount of listings and opportunities on the site and increasing the number of opportunities for collaboration that exist in the world.
