Viva Publishing Network offers unpaid internships year-round (minimum 2 months).

The internship is office-based and includes the following tasks:

Writing for a new guidebook series and creating web content.
Editing guidebooks and web content
Laying out content in books using Adobe InDesign.
A variety of other projects, depending on the time that you arrive.

The essential skills this internship are:

Proven ability to write in a captivating manner (native English or equivalent fluency)
Editing experience
Web savvy, not technophobe.
Ability to pick up new programs quickly.
Spanish at an intermediate level
A flexible approach

It is desirable that candidates are also comfortable with Adobe InDesign, but if not, training can be provided. Design skills also come in handy, but are not essential.

Since we are a small start-up company, those who intern with us are valued members of our team, significantly contributing to our projects. This is not an internship where you will be filing or making coffee!

Your costs during the internship would be anywhere between $140 to $200 for a room (per month) and money for food and travel. In general, costs in Ecuador are very low. You would be required to fund your flight to Ecuador. We provide details of varied accommodation to successful candidates.

Start and end dates are flexible, provided that the intern gives a two-month commitment.
