We are looking for someone who can help us with communications updates for sponsors and also with writing information for the website. This work will take many forms, reports on what we are doing, news feeds, new project information, fundraising information and so on. We are also always open to new ideas and suggestions so there will be room for you to use your own creativity in your writing, if you wish.

Ideally we need someone who is fluent in at least two of the following three languages as our website is in English, French and Spanish (or it will be when we finish it!). However, we do have people who translate for us so we can give some flexibility in terms of languages. The most important factor is to be able to produce newsletters for the sponsors, these need to be in English.

This position will involve visiting all of the projects we are running on a monthly basis and finding out news about what is happening, how things are going, any anecdotal stories that might be nice to tell the sponsors. Then this information will need to be typed up and formatted into newsletters or reports for the web, collecting photos for this would be another task.

We need someone who is able to present information clearly and with style. It would also be useful if you had some knowledge of website management as ideally you will be directly uploading what you write onto the website. The system we are using is pretty simple, though, so teaching you once you are here should not be a problem.

The great thing about this position, is that there will be the opportunity to be involved in all the projects we are running here (spending time with each for about a day per month) and get a real overview for the work that we are doing. If you also wanted to help out with a specific project as a sideline to writing, then that would also be OK and we can talk about that in the application process.

There is a contribution fee for participation. I know it can seem strange to be paying to work, but one third of our budget comes from these donations and so we do rely on them to continue working here. We have lots of fundraising ideas so please get in touch if you need some help with this - you can even fundraise for a specific project if you wish.

Contribution:

$350 (US) per month for first and second month
$250 per month 3-5
$180 per month 6-8
$125 per month 9-12

You will have accommodation provided here but will need to pay for all other expenses such as food and travel.
