Descripción:

This project seeks a coordinator to work on community development that takes place in the field of Triunfo, organizing, planning and executing the activities of volunteers, as well as managing and designing new social projects with vision to the sustainable development.
The coordinator will have all expenses paid: accommodation, food and mobilization in the work area.


Program Description
This volunteer position is focused on the search for a person to assist in the coordination of volunteers who will work in the various local development activities.


Volunteer activities
The coordinator must perform the following activities:

1. Coordinating, directing the activities of volunteers as:
- Training to the people who take care of children in the Nursery on topics of early stimulation, fine motor skills, etc.
- Work in schools by strengthening the academic structure, activities and knowledge of students in subjects such as English, computer science, mathematics, and so on.


2. Design and implementation of sustainable projects:
This activity is framed within the objectives of the organization, who are seeking community development through the implementation of sustainable projects. Projects that may develop in the area are: Implementation of a community library (running), organic farming, production of blackberry jam, handcrafted cheese production.


Volunteer Profile
The Community Coordinator must have the following characteristics:
- Specialized courses in sociology or related *.
- Experience in similar jobs.
- Coordination and leadership of community projects.
- Intermediate Spanish.
- A minimum period of 6 months.
- Motivation to work together with the people in the community.

The volunteer must:
• Have patience to work and enjoy school-age children.
• Preferably have experience working with children.
• Be a person capable of working in teams.
• If the native language is English or has a high knowledge of this language, requiring all communication with children is in this language.

Services close to the project
In El Triunfo, there is a health center where there are basic health care, in addition to the town of Baños, 45 min of the project, there are specialty care physicians, dentists and excellent clinics.

Accommodations
The coordinator will live in the house of volunteers, which is a traditional house with the basic amenities: tap water, electricity, bath, hot shower, has 3 sections: the first is where the rooms are equipped with bunk beds the second relates the kitchen-dining area and the third is the bathroom. The organization will provide the coordinator for food, accommodation and mobilization in the area working on an entirely free.

Volunteer time
The minimum time required in this job is six months. The coordinator is working 8 hours a day 8h00-17h00, but this depends on the activity that takes place because there will be activities that need more time than scheduled or will be during the hours of the night. Usually the job is done from Monday to Friday with weekends free.

Requirements
It is essential that the volunteer has an intermediate knowledge of Spanish, as without it he/she will not be able to make a significant contribution; the inhabitants of the community speak only Spanish. The volunteers must be able to hold conversations and participate in discussions in Spanish. On their arrival in Quito, all non-Hispanic volunteers will have to pass a Spanish exam before going into the project. If the volunteer is not at this level, Ecuador Volunteer could help him/her to find the best program to improve his abilities in Spanish before starting the project.
