MS Special Events Fundraising Intern - Spring 2010

Description:

Location: National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Capital Chapter, Washington, DC
Reports to: Senior Event manager
Requirements: Full or part-time. Minimum commitment of 12 weeks, 20-40 hours a week.

Primary Responsibilities
·Work with event staff to grow income on the chapter’s mass market events: Walk MS, Bike MS, and Capital Challenge Walk MS
·Assist with participant recruitment, cultivation, and recognition programs targeted towards teams, top fundraisers, and veteran participation.
·Help develop incentive, recognition, and awareness plans to increase number of participants and funds raised

Skills Desired
·Interest in fundraising and development, specifically special events
·Comfortable speaking to others and working with a variety of people
·Solid writing and communication skills
·Basic understanding of the benefits of customer service
·Ability to work independently and take initiative
·Flexibility

Contribute to the success of some of the National MS Society’s largest fundraisers. Support the Chapter’s fundraising campaigns that benefit thousands of people in Washington, D.C.; Northern Virginia, and Maryland affected by MS.
