COMMUNITY LINKS INTERNATIONAL
MEXICO
ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS & COMMUNITY EDUCATION
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 6 months´commitment,
• Bilingual requirement- Spanish/English,
• Simple, community living ambiance,
• Educational/Teaching background helpful, but not required,
• Passion for healing the Earth a must,
• Patient & creative interacting with children indispensable,
• Sensitive and compassionate character traits helpful when working in situations of marginalization and poverty,
• Culturally aware and sensitive to different world views,
• Ability to work with women in a sensitive way,
• Assist our Community Educator with:
o Classes, tutoring and teaching,
o Home visits,
o Community outreach & education,
o Organic, family gardening,
o Prepare lesson plans and educational materials & teach in our Juguemos a Aprender after-school program,
o Process data from Juguemos a Aprender.
BENEFITS:
• Room & Board provided in our house in Cholula, Puebla,
• Orientation to locale, logistics, Community Links International, our projects and our methodolgy- this will take approximtely 2-4 weeks,
• Small monthly stipend.
FUNDRAISING:
Of great assistance to our organization would be any fundraising the accepted volunteer could do, prior to arrival in Mexico, in order to cover the costs- $500/month- incurred by Community Links International with this position.
