The Global Volunteer Network has volunteer teaching opportunities through our partner organization in Ghana. The volunteer teaching opportunities are available in primary, secondary, technical, and vocational schools all over Ghana.
You don't have to be a certified teacher to be a volunteer-teacher. If you have at least a year of college education in any particular subject area, you qualify to teach on that subject at the secondary, technical or vocational level. If you have a High School qualification, you will be able to teach many subjects at the primary level. Relevant subjects include English, Mathematics, French, Life Skills, Social Studies, Environmental Studies, Religious and Moral Education, Agricultural Science, Integrated Science, Fine Art, Pre-Technical Skills, Basic Computer Skills and Preschool subjects.

Volunteers for the Ghana Teaching Program must:
* be between 18 and 50 years of age
* be able to walk long distances (up to 1 hour continuously) and be able to tolerate heat
* be available for a minimum of four weeks
* be able to speak English fluently
* have a High School qualification to teach at primary level, and a college degree to teach at secondary level
