Description:
Do you know someone over 60 pursuing a passion in an encore career?
The Purpose Prize, now in its fifth year, provides five $100,000 and five $50,000 awards to social innovators over 60 in encore careers. It is the nation's only large-scale investment in social innovators in the second half of life.
The Purpose Prize is accepting nominations, including self-nominations, at www.encore.org/prize.
See who has won the Prize:
-Catalino Tapia, an immigrant who built a gardening business and then launched a grassroots program raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship funds to seed the American dream for Latino youth.
-Judith Broder, a psychiatrist who combines her experience and passion to recruit mental health professionals to provide free, confidential counseling to veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families through The Soldiers Project.
-Don Coyhis, a former computer executive who built a nationwide substance abuse recovery program based on Native American beliefs and traditions.
Please nominate at www.encore.org/prize
