If you plan an internship in a particular field of medicine, we arrange to place you in a relevant department of the Ghanaian hospital, to ensure that you receive maximum experience and help in your chosen field. Health care services providers in Ghana often work with limited resources and offer services to low-income populations at a minimal cost so local health professionals appreciate your presence and the extra pair of hands to assist them.

Interns work may include but not limited to providing education about basic health and nutrition, physical therapy activities and stretching, organizing and offering companionship. A key attribute of any internship in this type of placement is cultural exchange. This may mean exchanging ideas and life experiences. Some of the specialist areas are described below.

OUR SAFETY MEASURES.
Your well being while volunteering with us is our priority we make sure your trip is safe and our in-country coordinator will provide whatever support you may need at every step along the way and making necessary contacts on your behalf, including an in-depth volunteer handbook and in-country informational materials and regular visits as required by participants. Program Managers also provide extensive telephone support from enrollment to departure.

Arrival Orientation
Our always available program Directors will coordinate a city orientation and tour at the beginning of each program to familiarize volunteers with their new surroundings and host family.

During the orientation process, program Directors will take you through reviews about health and safety information as well as cultural customs.

We operate programs in carefully chosen areas that offer a safe environment for the volunteer. Although Ghana is a very peaceful country we take great strides to ensure the safety of our volunteers.

Our staff are always available to assist you with any personal, in-country support and our volunteers are registered at their embassy or consulate, in other for the volunteer to stay informed about news and local happenings. Our host family are carefully researched and chosen.

Hospitals & Doctors
If you require medical attention, our Directors will take you to an accra base Hospital which is popular with foreigners and provides a reasonably good standard of health care. It is about 30 minutes drive from your host family.

The accommodation we provide are HOME-STAY arrangements.
The families who host our volunteers are couples with or without children, joint families, single parents. Our friendly host family housing consists of a comfortable house in a safe, conveniently-located neighborhood, Clean, fenced. Lodging arrangements always have basic amenities like modern toilet facility and running water. Volunteers will have a room for him or her self with a comfortable bed and a fan. You will be getting 3 Meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) which are prepared daily and served by the host family when ever you are at home. The meals are traditional, but very nutritious by Ghanaian standard. If you wish to arrange your own food due to special dietary restrictions or preferences, then discuss it with DREAM GHANA ahead of time. Utility bills are taken care of by the host family.


THE PROGRAM FEE IS $520 F0R THE FIRST 1 WEEK TO 3 WEEKS, EACH ADDITIONAL WEEK IS $130
