Description:
A fulfilling job is one where I know I am helping someone, and myself, get to where we want to go, not merely where we have to be. Thus, I am an idealist, yet realize that often we must do what we must in order to survive. Yet, in such circumstances that many do live in, the effort of dreaming of a better life, is probably doing more than whatever I may ever get to actually do.
What I mean is this, look at the poor living in debt; for them to dream of a better life and community, takes an amazing sense of perspective and vision. This is what I hope to have, minus the debt and poverty, of course.
I have held many positions in the past, beginning as a local volunteer, finally rising to the position of CFO in a local non-profit. Although it was voluntary, the position allowed me to engage with people, and only with much regret did I eventually leave my responsibilities to pursue further education and experience elsewhere.
Currently, I am obtaining a teaching credential along with my Masters in Political Science at my local CSU.
