What is a Volunteer Profile?
Answer:
A Volunteer Profile is a searchable description of yourself, your interests, and your volunteering availability. It allows all organizations and groups listed on Idealist to find and contact you if they feel you could be of assistance on their various projects. Organizations and groups will then contact you with the email address you specify in this profile or via the Idealist message system. Please note that this is not a resume bank and posting your resume is not permitted. To create a Volunteer Profile, do the following:
- Login to your Member account by going to our homepage and filling in your login information in the Member Login field on the right side of the screen. If you have not yet created a Member account, you can do so by clicking here.
- Now you will see your Control Panel page. Click underneath My Profiles the link that says “Click here to do it.”
- The menu will expand to show your different profiles. Next to “Volunteer,” click “Add New.”
- On the next screen, you can specify your interests, location and availability.
- Click Submit.
