I can’t find my listing, where is my new listing?

If you posted a listing on Idealist and you can not find it, there could be a number of reasons for this. First, if you posted the listing over two months ago, it may have already been removed from our site and archived. You can determine if it has been removed by seeing if it was archived by our system.

If it has not been archived, make sure the listing was actually posted in the first place.

If your listing is active in your account and you can’t find it when you search, make sure that the criteria you are searching with matches the criteria you indicated in the listing itself. Often times there is an error in the way the listing was posted on our site such as a typo in the location or accidentally selecting the wrong Areas of Focus. Further, you cannot enter multiple locations in a single listing because our system works on exact word matches only. Therefore, you can not list multiple states; you must either leave the field blank or enter the state of the city you wish to indicate. Further, you cannot enter in the city field such things as:

1. Counties, e.g.: Cleveland County
   
2. Multiple Cities, e.g.: New York, Atlanta, Washington
   
3. Adjectives, e.g.: Greater Norman
   
4. Specific Neighborhoods, e.g. Downtown Oklahoma City
   
5. Phrases, e.g.: Various Locations

You can view and update your active listings at anytime.
