Registering as a Consultant

Why doesn't the registration form accept my company's name?

Answer:

If you complete registration and receive the message "There is already a consultant with that name. Please try another," then one of two things has happened: either someone in your office has already created a record on Idealist, or a chapter office of a larger company has taken the general name of the company.

If you find that someone from your office has already registered with Idealist, find the page on Idealist that has your company’s information and see if a contact person is listed. If so, contact that person about providing the password for your organization so you may associate your Member account to your Organization’s account.

If you find that the contact person is no longer with the organization, please write to us at password@idealist.org from your organization's email account with the name of your organization as it appears on our site so that we may provide you with the necessary information. We do not release log-in information over the phone.

If your company’s name was entered by another chapter office, use your geographical location to distinguish your page. For instance, if another chapter has created a record for "Consultant Company", consider calling yourself, "Consultant Company of Oklahoma."
