Mission:
The Quebec Forest Industries Association (QFIA) represents over 30 manufacturing firms. These companies account for 97% of Quebec's pulp and paper production. The Association's mission is to represent these companies, especially in relations with governments, on issues of common interest. QFIA also has the mandate to inform the public on the positions, concerns, commitments and achievements of the Quebec pulp and paper industry. The objective underlying all QFIA activities is to foster a context in which Quebec's companies can compete on world markets. In this regard, the Association is active in a number of areas, notably wood supply, management of pulp and paper mill effluents, wastes and emissions, energy efficiency, labour, transportation, etc. QFIA works closely with members of the forestry and economic communities, as well as with governments and environmental groups.
