Riverbank Credit and Savings Limited is a thriving microfinance organization, founded in Kenya in June 2008. Originating from the Riverbank Crescent Self Help Group, our institution aims to confront the poverty and lack of resources that hides so much human potential in some of the world’s poorest people. Through microcredit, group loans, education loans, micro housing loans, emergency loans, savings, and insurance services, we provide affordable financial intermediation to those who would otherwise remain overlooked. Rather than issuing loans on the basis of collateral, Riverbank creates an exit from the cycle of poverty by focusing instead on character of the client, cash flow of the business, and conditions of the loan. From the outset, Riverbank Credit has been a customer-focused organization and today provides sanctuary for the aspirations of more than 5,200 clients with a total outstanding loan portfolio valued at Kshs 2,720,000/-.
