Description:
Who We Are
We are an US non-profit educational organization that has been working in Cambodia for over ten years. We use OLPC XO laptops in our unique learning programs. We are now looking for creative, committed, and well-organized people to run our English Learning and Computer Learning programs at our new rural secondary school. The two positions will commence October 1st, located in Preah Vihear Province. A minimum volunteer period of ten months is expected in order to provide continuity throughout the academic year. Living stipends and accommodation are provided.
What We Do
The digital learning program in Preah Vihear Province now serves as an innovative “school in a school” complementing the rudimentary government school system. The school’s educational approach uses XO Laptops. The goal is to use these new tools to get students thinking for themselves, ¬something that never happens in their regular school programs.
Where We Are
We are in one of the most remote and tranquil locations in Cambodia. Our digital learning program is truly unique. Set in a rural Cambodian farming community, students attend government classes each day, and also attend our program. This is a rare chance to volunteer and live in an honest and friendly remote rural community while having access to cutting-edge technology.
Skills and Qualifications
English Teacher: TEFL/CELTA qualified, or with demonstrable teaching experience.
Computer Learning Teacher: familiar with computer systems management and able to teach in a creative and engaging way.
If you are a motivated and adaptable couple who would find our work personally rewarding, please contact us for more information.
