No. But signing up is free and allows you to receive Email Alerts with new opportunities that match your criteria, bookmark listings, save your searches, create a personal profile, make a page for your organization, post listings, connect and communicate with other members, and much more. We hope you'll join us!

It's free to sign up, search for opportunities, connect with others, create a page for your organization, and post events, volunteer opportunities, internships, programs, and resources.

We do charge U.S.-based organizations $70 for each job posted, but be sure to check out Job Packs for reduced rates.

It's up to you whether your personal profile is visible to everyone, to all Idealist members, only to your connections, or to no one at all. Visit your preferences to check or change these privacy settings.

Certain activity on the site is shared with everyone or just your connections (depending on your profile privacy preferences): publishing listings, connecting with people and organizations, attending events, sharing listings and organizations, editing your profile, changing your "Looking for" status. If you don't want to share this kind of activity, you can set your profile to be completely private.

Your other actions will never be shared with anyone: bookmarking listings, sending and receiving messages, declining or ignoring invitations and requests, saving drafts of listings or pages, and changing log-in information.

Idealist does not have a resume database or provide a direct matching service. It's up to you to find posted opportunities and get in touch with each organization that you are interested in working with.

However, you're more than welcome to include information such as your skills, interests, and goals, and your education, work, and volunteer history on your Idealist profile. You can also update your "I'm looking for..." status to announce that you're currently seeking a job.

Log in and hover over your name in the top right corner. Click on "My Profile" when it appears in the dropdown menu. Then click on the blue "Edit Profile" button on the right. Scroll down and click to expand the Photos section. Click on Choose Photo to add your picture. Pictures must be no larger than 350KB.

Log in to your account using your original email address and password. Hover over your name in the top right corner and click on "My Profile" when it appears in the dropdown menu. Click the blue "Edit profile" button on the right. On the left hand side of the screen, you'll see the option to change your password.

Before you can remove your old email address, you'll have to add and verify the new one. To do so, log in at Idealist.org. Hover over your name in the top right corner, and click on "My Profile" when it appears in the dropdown menu. Click the blue "Edit Profile" button.

Scroll down to the contact section and click on the green (+) sign which will allow you to add a new email address. Save your changes. Check your new email address for a verification email with a link inside. Once you've clicked on this link, navigate back to edit your profile and you'll be able to delete your old email address.

You must add and verify your new email address before you can receive your old one so that you don't inadvertently lose access to your account.

Developing a fully mobile version of Idealist is on our to-do list. In the meantime, to sign up using your mobile device, please visit Idealist.org/signup. To log in, please visit Idealist.org/login.

If you'd like to see us prioritize the development of a mobile version, you can also visit http://getsatisfaction.com/idealist and post your idea publicly in that forum. This way, other users can vote your idea up on our priority list.

If you feel you're getting too many emails from us, just click on "Preferences" on the left side of the page. There you can select the ones you'd rather not receive, and we'll stop bothering you.

Remember that you can always check for the most important updates in the "Notifications" section of your Idealist mailbox.

To remove yourself from Idealist, please log in and hover over your name in the top right hand corner. Select "My profile" from the drop down menu, and then click on the "Edit profile" button on the right. You'll see the option to delete your account on the left hand side of the screen under Admin Tools.
