History
1996-1999
In these years, C.O.O.L. began efforts to work with the expanded resources from the Corporation for National Service. Most notably, C.O.O.L. launched its C.O.O.L. Leaders program as a national training ground for outstanding student leaders representing diverse institutions. C.O.O.L. recruited, selected, convened, and equipped these student leaders with a comprehensive set of skills and tools. Oxfam America became a key partner in this project and has since modified it to be the current Oxfam Change Leader program. Together with Oxfam and Bread for the World, C.O.O.L. published the Guide to Advocacy and Activism, picking up on the maturation of service efforts and students' growing interests in political action. |
