Idealist Alliances are a campus-based, campus-led initiative that brings our resources
to the campus level and supports student leaders and others who are working to
strengthen communities and change the world.
Idealist Alliances work year-round on IOC Initiatives and related projects. Idealist
Alliances are free to develop their own projects and action plans to meet the unique
needs of their communities, but commit to the following core principles:
- Building connections between students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and
community members
- Engaging others in service, activism, advocacy, and civic engagement
- Creating opportunities for students to explore socially responsible careers and a
lifetime of civic engagement
- Pursuing and building institutional commitment to the core values of Idealist on
Campus - developing student leaders, valuing student and community voice, creating
lasting institutional and community change, supporting meaningful action, and building
and connecting the higher education and nonprofit fields.
Idealist Alliances are designed to support and enhance the progress already being
made on college campuses. We recognize and strongly support the great work being done
by students, faculty, staff, and administrators on many campuses. As an international,
online network with a track record of success, our hope is to lend our assets and
resources to these existing efforts and create more opportunities for good work to be
done.
