If I could support myself and my daughter comfortably while doing this, I would. I started a non profit in 2008 and had to step back from my work because I am living in poverty and have been forced to take a more realistic approach to living based on survival. I am still a dreamer and a visionary, and having to do this has been a painful process for me, but I also think that being an ideallist is in a way a pursuit of the liberal elite who have the luxury and time afforded them to sit around and dream about possibilities while the poor without many options struggle to survive and the rich who have the power and control would rather play golf. Where is the action? I prefer at this point to engage in something that I think is truly going to make a difference in the world - not just preaching to the choir and organizing events for the same handful of people who are already on board and going around in circles while the ones who could make a difference don't care to listen and the masses don't have the time or energy to listen. So WTF? We should be able to do so much more - so take this to the politicians and the people with the money and control to make policies and change the way we run our countries, what we manufacture and how we do it. What is for sale, and what is a human right? If these things are not going to be seriously addressed and if massive changes and deconstruction of current systems of inequality will not be seriously undertaken and set as immediate goals and number one priorities then what is the point other than more mental masturbation and a bunch of well meaning visionaries cavorting around thinking of great ideas that never go anywhere? less

I think it needs a little bit of straightening out and filling in the details. I have learnt in creating co-operatives and groups that if I can present it in the right way i can get everyone involved even if they do not really believe it will work. On the other hand even if people believe they may not join up if it is not presented well. I am thinking if we focus the idealist groups on particular issues, and larger or smaller scale then their will be a group that really attracts each person, and we will get people signing up in droves. Sound interesting? less

Lacks detail and focus. Not terribly radical. A bit ambitious. But, exciting, nonetheless.

It can be done. All we need is the action of good people to affect change locally and globally.
