Feb. 11-12 ('98) Nonprofits Conference in Seattle Mary Stewart Hall of Seattle University has announced the 1998 Nonprofits Conference: "The fourth Nonprofit and Philanthropic Executive Series addresses a leader's need to gather timely, relevant and practical learnings that can be put to use immediately. Designed specifically for the heads of nonprofit and grantmaking organizations and their boards, the workshop series offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge from the experts and share insights with other top managers and civic leaders. Workshops are taught over two days by an exciting mix of experienced presenters from nonprofit agencies, businesses, consulting practices and university faculty. The registration fee enables you to choose four of the twelve half-day, skill-building workshops and attend two luncheon presentations. Additional tickets to the luncheons may be purchased, space permitting." Active Listening for Effective Communications" Luncheon Topics and Presenters: Thursday: "Innovative Individual Philanthropy" by Doug and Maggie Walker, co-founders, Social Venture Partners Friday: "If I Knew Then What I Know Now - Moving From Agency Head to Grantmaker" by Peter Blomquist, Exec. Director, Starbucks Foundation The registration fee is $280.00 and includes 4 1/2-day workshops, coffee break refreshments and lunch on both days.
