Richmond Promise

Launched in 2016, The Richmond Promise is a community-wide scholarship and post-secondary success initiative to build a college graduating culture, close the degree divide, and promote educational, economic, and racial equity in Richmond, California. The Richmond Promise is inclusive by design and believes in the value of multiple pathways to post-secondary success. Through a college scholarship, collaborative, cross-sector and community-driven partnerships, and student-centered programming, we aim to ensure all students in Richmond have access to high-quality education, excel from high school to higher education, attain a postsecondary degree or certification, thrive in the field of their choice, and become a leader of positive change in their community and the world. Our mission is best represented by the over 1,500 Scholars across 100+ universities. Almost 70 percent of whom are the first in their family to go to college. The Richmond Promise aims to create multi-generational change and sustain as a pillar of the Richmond community for decades to come.
