Columbia-LSE dual MA/MSc program in International and World History

Sobre Nós

This unique two-year program offers students an opportunity to work with preeminent historians in New York and London and explore the transnational forces that have shaped and continue to remake our world: migration, trade, technology, religion, epidemics, the environment, diplomacy, intervention and war.

Students acquire an understanding of the conceptual possibilities and problems associated with international and world history, practical methodological training in the use of archives and oral history, and professional guidance on the presentation and dissemination of their findings. Graduates from the program receive a Master’s degree in International and World History from both institutions and establish life-long contacts around the world. While many students go on to undertake PhDs, the dual Master’s degree in International and World History also offers a launching pad for careers in government, journalism, NGOs, and international organizations.
