CityLights links the community organizations and committed residents of Southwest Philadelphia to each other and to partners in the region. Together we strive to create a vibrant neighborhood where residents can flourish, while encouraging personal growth and lasting change in all who participate.
We accomplish this by:
- hosting monthly network meetings to share ideas, resources, and information
- building capacity in community organizations by linking them with funding sources, in-kind donations, volunteers, and workshops
- enhancing community spirit by highlighting the success stories of neighborhood partners in local media and regional interactions
- encouraging collaboration through special events and joint projects
- participating in advocacy efforts that impact the quality of life in Southwest Philly
- initiating involvement in regional opportunities that would benefit the neighborhood
- fostering environmental stewardship through gardening and tree planting programs, as well as supporting school teachers to garden and recycle
- cultivating a greater awareness of health living by hosting various health related workshops and promoting partner events
