Sobre Nós

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is a member of the CGIAR Consortium. ILRI has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, a principal campus in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and offices in other countries of Africa and Asia.

ILRI’s purpose is to improve food security and reduce poverty in developing countries through better and sustainable use of livestock. We work with partners to help poor people keep their farm animals alive and productive, increase and sustain their livestock and farm productivity and find profitable markets for their animal products.

ILRI’s role is to bring about change in livestock-related practice, policy and investment by generating and exploiting scientific knowledge, exerting influence and developing capacity, drawing on ILRI’s unique pro-poor livestock mandate, its expertise and its global role and relationships.
