As one of California's outstanding professional theatres, TheatreWorks celebrates the human spirit through innovative productions and programs inspired by our exceptionally diverse community.

TheatreWorks is a treasured cultural asset located in Silicon Valley where for nearly 50 years we have produced nationally acclaimed, professional theatre under the guidance of founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and with the expert management of Executive Director Phil Santora. As the largest nonprofit theatre in Silicon Valley and the third largest in the Bay area, we celebrate three mission-based priorities: a mainstage season of eight productions (plays and musicals with over 143 U.S. and regional premieres), a thriving New Works Initiative that hasproduced 65 world premieres (including Tony Award Winning, Memphis), and a collection of innovative education and healing programs, including TheatreWorks for Schools (a Kennedy Centers Education Partnership)that reaches 60 schools and 25,000 students in eight Bay Area counties. Collectively, our programs pave the way for new voices in American theatre while providing a safe place for the development of new works with celebrated artists such as Andrew Lippa, Stephen Schwartz, Jeanine Tesori, David Hein & Irene Sankhoff, and many more!
