The Alabama Honduras Medical Educational Network sends a yearly community development teaching team to work with leaders from the Women's Network in Jutiapa, Honduras. We are requesting volunteers to sign up immediately as we leave June 1! If you sign up before January 31, you only pay $900 + airline fees.
Here is our schedule:
June 1: Fly into Roatan and spend the night for acclimation and briefing
June 2: Take ferry to La Ceiba, check in to Villa Helens in Sambo Creek, practice our teaching lessons with our interpreters, and attend a cultural welcome celebration hosted by the Jutiapa Youth Network.
June 3-5: We will teach our lessons from 9 AM - 2:30 PM with afternoons unstructured for impromptu meetings, lesson adaptations, and fellowship.
June 6: We will hold a departure/graduation ceremony for our students and depart for Roatan on the afternoon ferry.
June 7: R&R in Roatan
June 8: Return home.
