What was your first job after college and how did you get it?
Secretary for research group at a leadership training educational institution. Got it through the newspaper.
How did you get your current job?
Newspaper.
What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
I've learned most of the technology stuff on the job. College taught me to be an effective researcher, which helps me to solve tech problems by researching them online.
Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
I took some courses in public-sector IT work in graduate school. No regrets though; those courses weren't offered when I was in undergraduate school.
Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
MPA (with a concentration in Public Sector Technology). Different jobs and paths require different further education. A more technical job might want MCSE certificate.
