What books, magazines, periodicals, websites or other materials should people read to learn more about this field?
There are many professional nursing and healthcare sector journals; in particular, American Journal Nursing, Journal for Healthcare Quality, Journal for Nursing Administration, and Nursing Outlook. I have either written articles or am on their editorial review boards.

What questions would you ask of someone who wants to do this work?
Are you adaptable to travel and/or establishing residency in other countries -- especially in developing economies? What experience do you have in this regard? What do you know of the culture, history, and socioeconomic needs (healthcare, in particular) of the countries you want to work in?

In what kinds of jobs can recent college graduates have the most impact in your field?
Economic development

What are the major trends and/or key issues in your field?
Quality improvement of healthcare services; quality of life related to economic development (employment, privatization); education and training (capacity building)

What forms of support and/or advice have you found most valuable (mentoring, trainings, professional development, attending conferences, etc.)?
Attending conferences, searches of Internet sites

What is a common or tough interview question a candidate in your field should be prepared to answer?
Have you done this job before?

What other advice would you give people who want to do this work?
Use perseverance, adaptability, and innovation to find a niche that best suits your education, interest, and abilities. Try to keep focused.
