Career Path
What was your first job after college and how did you get it?
I worked with AmeriCorps for a year focusing on service learning. I next was in a California teacher credential program (in Mexico) for a year. Next I started working for Oakland Unified.

How did you get your current job?
I had my BCLAD bilingual teaching credential, so in any district I was basically golden. I just walked into the district office.

What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
The program in Mexico was excellent! And I would say going to school at Cal helped me see that there are injustices that need to be addressed.

Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
No regrets.

Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
Yes, I am considering graduate school. It would probably have to do with education.
