What was your first job after college and how did you get it?
I worked as a medical technician in a doctor's office that specialized in working with children with dyslexia. I saw an advertisement in the paper and interviewed.
How did you get your current job?
I sent my resume to YAI on the advice of a friend. I interviewed and was offered the Supervisor position.
What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
My work ethic, discipline, organization and writing skills have greatly helped me in this position.
Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
It's too bad I didn't take any education courses as an undergrad. Instead, I had to complete a Master's Degree in Education without any preliminary courses.
Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
I received an M.S. Ed and I have my SDA/SAS certificate in School Administration.
