A Day in the Life
What are three things you love and three things you find challenging or frustrating about your work?
Love:
1.  constantly meeting new people
2.  in-depth look at power politics in New York City
3.  learning innovative approaches to food issues

Challenging or frustrating:
1.  difficult sometimes to keep the pace
2.  hard to synthesize the massive amounts of info
3.  difficult to narrow where we should spend our time

What is the most important task on your desk right now?
developing a resource guide for Soros Justice Fellows through the Open Society Institute

What drives you to do this work? What makes you want to get out of bed every morning?
I love the people I work with and the projects we work on. I also appreciate working in such a close-knit, intelligent, and energetic team.

How often do you "dress up" for work? Describe the culture of your organization.
Regularly I have to 'dress up' because of interviews or visits with New York City's elite policymakers. However, there are many times when I 'dress down' to do work with kids or in a community garden.

In a typical month, about what percentage of your time is spent on the following activities?
Talking on the phone 5%
Dealing with email 5%
Meetings with individuals 30%
Meetings with groups/committees 35%
Traveling 5%

Researching 10%
