Career Path
What was your first job after college and how did you get it?
Development assistant for a political action committee in Washington DC. I got it by contacting everyone I knew and asking them about job information. Someone I knew in a Congressional office knew about the opening and made a call.

How did you get your current job?
Through contacts — someone knew I was looking, and told me about the opening.

What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
No specific course — classes that required good writing, and required me to present ideas in a clear manner helped my skills most.

Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
None.

Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
Law degree — expensive, but really useful. It is a maleable degree that allows one to do a lot. It is (for better or worse) a credibility degree — people listen to lawyers.
