What questions would you ask of someone who wants to do this work?
What motivates you?
How do you handle stress?
What role can students play in social change movements?

In what kinds of jobs can recent college graduates have the most impact in your field?
There are lots of opportunities for recent grads, from teaching ESL, to lay health advising, to organizing unions.

What are the major trends and/or key issues in your field?
Tightening immigration laws, expanding abusive guestworker programs, excluding farmworkers from federal labor and employment protections, replacement of small farms with agribusiness

What forms of support and/or advice have you found most valuable (mentoring, trainings, professional development, attending conferences, etc.)?
Find a mentor! Attend trainings that will give you time to reflect on your work. Take classes that will give you new skills.

What is a common or tough interview question a candidate in your field should be prepared to answer?
Be prepared to talk about concrete skills you have and how they relate to the position you are applying for.

What other advice would you give people who want to do this work?
Give yourself time to reflect, and always continue learning.
