I was a high school teacher at a private school. I went directly to the school and asked for an appointment to discuss opportunities.
How did you get your current job?
Applied for an internnship with United Way of America and was selected through a competitive process.
What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
Working in graduate school in human resouces development and working in student personnel development at the college level led me to focus on work involving the development of human potential.
Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
No regrets.
Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
M.A. in Educational Leadership. There aren't really limitations in this field because one's performance track record is what is looked at for determining advancement.
