What books, magazines, periodicals, websites or other materials should people read to learn more about this field?
The website of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees tells a lot about refugees and IDPs (internally displaced persons); the CDC and WHO are good sources for health topics

What questions would you ask of someone who wants to do this work?
Have you had any experience with people from other cultures?

In what kinds of jobs can recent college graduates have the most impact in your field?
Health, research, public policy, communications, human rights

What are the major trends and/or key issues in your field?
Politics, immigration, laws, wars, and epidemics

What forms of support and/or advice have you found most valuable (mentoring, trainings, professional development, attending conferences, etc.)?
Mentoring, trainings, professional development, shadowing opportunities

What is a common or tough interview question a candidate in your field should be prepared to answer?
Are you willing to work with poor and underserved people?

What other advice would you give people who want to do this work?
Be nice, flexible, learn another language, travel so you can be exposed to many things, and never underestimate anyone, respect everyone no matter who they are.
